María Bastaros is an art historian and cultural manager who started an action at her university because it was not possible to find information about women artists. So she started a campaign pasting posters with the slogan “Quién coño es” which is a play on words in Spanish. When she crossed my path I was fascinated by her idea and I proposed to work together on the project if it was done in fanzine format.

So it was, it was a fanzine with a magazine aesthetic where you could find articles from female collaborators as well as Maria, talking about different female artists. In a short time, it became very famous as well as being a powerful project.

You can find the issues of the fanzine in digital magazine format at the following links. The magazine I-D includes an interview with Maria about the fanzine as well as all the feminist political ideology that transcends the project. In the interview Maria talks about how the project came about and how it was carried out through collaborators, all of whom are also women. Caxia Forum, which is the cultural part of the Caixa Bank, also wanted to sell it in their art book store.
